Method
- Simmer 80 g steel-cut oats in 700 ml water with ½ tsp salt for 25 to 35 minutes, stirring now and then, until creamy. Add more water if you like it soupier.
- Stir in 1 tsp ginger paste and 1 tsp ghee.
- Spoon into bowls. Swirl in some kefir, add 4 or 5 drops of black seed oil (it's strong) and crush seasalt seaweed over the top.
- For a sweet-savoury edge, add ½ tsp manuka honey.

- A savoury breakfast that lets steel-cut oats shine, instead of hiding them in sweet porridge.
- Vegetarian.
